I'm an engineering leader with 15 years of software engineering experience, the last several spent building and leading teams. I grow engineering communities from a handful of contributors into cross-disciplinary collaborations, translate ambiguous technical and organizational problems into shipped programs, and develop the engineers around me through mentorship and process. Across each of those roles, I pair hands-on technical depth with program ownership - from prototype to production, from individual contributor to people manager.
Professional Experience
Lead Software Engineer
Bose | 03/2024 - Current
- Run program management for the PCPREQ prototyping platform and lead its engineers (full-time and contract direct reports) and cross-disciplinary community, transforming an ad hoc DSP environment into a reliable, company-wide production prototyping and demo platform - sustained through code review, pair programming, and mentorship.
- Restructured the candidate interview process, cutting time-to-feedback for candidates and the team by 50% while consistently identifying strong hires.
- Champion modern SDLC and engineering-writing practices (ADRs, application manuals, runbooks, user guides) across the platform, using it as a teaching vehicle for these practices enterprise-wide.
- Lead consensus building on tools and APIs to make DSP work portable across platforms.
- Develop and share structured AI-assisted workflows that improved engineering practices and deliverables across the team.
- Develop and maintain tools in C and Python for DSP algorithm development, evaluation, and deployment.
Senior Software Engineer
Bose | 01/2023 - 03/2024
- Defined Bose's path forward for reliably packaging and sharing MATLAB code, evaluating MATLAB's native packaging capabilities against enterprise needs.
- Built and maintained a Jenkins CI/CD environment for testing, packaging, and deploying MATLAB toolboxes.
- Promoted and extended automated testing practices across Bose MATLAB and Simulink projects.
Lead ML Tooling Engineer
Flock Safety | 06/2021 - 01/2023
- Managed a team of 2 engineers - hiring, onboarding, training, and technical roadmap ownership.
- Mentored engineers and collaborated across teams to define and deliver new product features.
- Led the design and rollout of annotation tooling (image, audio, object-tracking, device-health), dataset versioning, along with the campaign process that streamlined data collection and validation across tools.
- Owned data-interface security (service-to-service, frontend, ad hoc) and the team's frontend build/test infrastructure.
